WIH International Hospital
The new home of the Chettawut Plastic Surgery Center, a surgical hospital in Bang Na with gender-affirming and cosmetic surgery under one roof
Independently assessed by Bea Siriwat
Last reviewed 12 October 2026 · How we evaluate
Patients who know the name Chettawut will now find the practice at WIH International Hospital. Dr Chettasak Tulayaphanich, known until October 2024 as Dr Chettawut, ran the Chettawut Plastic Surgery Center from 1998 and went on to found this hospital in Bang Na, where his gender-affirming and cosmetic surgery practice is now based.

Our Assessment of WIH International Hospital
WIH brings a well-known gender-affirming surgeon's practice into a hospital building of its own. Patients get operating theatres, an emergency department and a seven-room ICU on the same site, which is more than most specialist cosmetic clinics in Bangkok can offer, along with a wide menu covering MTF and FTM surgery, facial feminisation and general cosmetic work.
The trade-offs are that WIH is a young hospital with no published accreditation, neither JCI nor Thailand's HA, so the safety standard rests on its own statements. Surgeon credentials beyond the founder's are not set out on the doctor list, procedure prices are not published, and much of the third-party information online still points to the old clinic address. The Bang Na location is handy for Suvarnabhumi airport but a long way from central Bangkok.
For patients who want Dr Chettasak specifically, or who like the idea of a surgeon-led hospital with intensive care on site, WIH is worth a look, but ask for licence and accreditation details before you book.
Who WIH International Hospital Is Best For

Accreditations, Verified
WIH does not publish any hospital accreditation, and we found no JCI or HA (Thailand) record for it. Patients should ask the hospital for its Ministry of Public Health licence and any accreditation before booking.
Where the issuing body publishes a public register, the badge links straight to it; otherwise it links to the hospital's own published record. Our full source list is below.
Notable Surgeons at WIH International Hospital

Cosmetic Surgery Specialties
Gender-affirming surgery is the practice's best-known work, built on Dr Chettasak's own non-penile inversion technique, but the hospital also offers a broad range of facial, breast and body procedures.

How WIH International Hospital Compares
WIH sits between a specialist clinic and a full general hospital. Here is how it compares with other options for gender-affirming and cosmetic surgery.
WIH International Hospital vs Kamol Cosmetic Hospital
Both are surgeon-founded hospitals in Bangkok with a strong gender-affirming practice. Kamol states it holds JCI accreditation but has no ICU, while WIH has an ICU on site but publishes no accreditation.

How We Evaluated WIH International Hospital
Our editorial team independently researched WIH International Hospital. No hospital can pay to be listed here, ranked higher or reviewed favourably. Here is what we assessed. Our checks are desk-based, verified against the issuing bodies' registers and the hospital's own published materials rather than a hospital-arranged visit. Read the full methodology.
We confirmed each accreditation directly with the issuing bodies and against published records, rather than relying on marketing claims, so the badges you see are real.
We checked the qualifications of the clinicians who would treat you and the depth of the specialist teams, technology and inpatient support standing behind them.
We assessed whether there is a genuine international patient service (multilingual staff, visa help and structured coordination) rather than just a translated website.
We looked for documented care plans, follow-up scheduling and clear channels, so you can still reach your care team once you have flown home.
We evaluated whether estimates are itemised and given in writing upfront, covering treatment, stay and follow-up, rather than arriving as one opaque figure.
We reviewed patient reports across multiple independent sources, looking for consistent themes in satisfaction, complaints and treatment outcomes.
How we make money
Hospitals cannot pay for placement, ranking or a favourable review anywhere on this site. We earn a coordination fee from the hospital only when you choose to book through us, and it never changes your price. That conflict is why we publish our evaluation criteria and sources on every profile, and link accreditations to the issuing bodies.
If you believe any information on this profile is inaccurate or outdated, please contact our editorial team and we will check it against the source.
